Top 5 Irresistible Summer Cocktails:
We’re a big fan of summer over here at PNWNerdParents, as well as food and irresistible cocktails. I love a good cocktail. Especially ones that are super easy to make and help make my relaxing day in the sun even better. Plus we all know moms need a good drink every now and then because raising these kiddos is hard and we need a little break.
I’m not sure when our blog started having more food related content, but I’m totally here for it and okay with it, because everyone loves food and drinks. And some people even love alcoholic drinks which makes this blog post perfect for those people (and the non judgey moms who like to enjoy cocktails in the summer evenings).
There is also a couple of mocktails on this list for the non drinkers as well, so without further ado, here is my list of my top 5 favorite summer cocktails. and well if they aren’t irresistible to you, then maybe your taste buds are whack because they taste amazing in my book. Just kidding, maybe you have different favorites than I do, and that is perfectly fine too.
Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri
First up on our 5 Favorite irresistible summer cocktails list, we have the Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri. This classic cocktail is made with fresh strawberries and is a sure-fire crowd-pleader, especially on those hot, sunny days. This fruity frozen treat is so simple, refreshing and frosty and one of my ultimate favorite summer drinks.
Did you know that the Daiquiri, “was supposedly invented by an American mining engineer named Jennings Cox, who was in Cuba at the time of the Spanish–American War. It is also possible that William A. Chanler, a US congressman who purchased the Santiago iron mines in 1902, introduced the daiquiri to clubs in New York in that year.” according to wikipedia. The Daiquiri became popular in the 1940s due to the rationing of whiskey and vodka during world war 2 making them hard to come by, but rum however was easily more obtainable due to President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Good Neighbor Policy with Latin America, Cuba and the Caribbean, consequently making the rum-based drink, the daiquiri rise in popularity in the US.

This refreshing Mocktail uses fresh fruit and basil syrup to make the perfect drink for a gathering. and I mean just look at that beautiful pink color. Its so colorful and screams summer and is totally irresistible!
I wont give you a history lesson on this one, but i will tell you that if you aren’t a fan of blueberries or limes you can totally substitute them for another fresh fruit of your choice.

Last but not least, number five on our favorite irresistible summer cocktails list is a Sparkling White Sangria. (we love our wine with fruit!)
Sangria’s are one of the most popular drinks in Spanish Culture. It originates from Spain and Portugal and is commonly served in restaurants, bars, chiringuitos (food booths) and at festivities.
